Ministry Team

We are blessed with a ministry team of two ministers who lead us in our worship activities and guide the life of our Congregation. Click on the name of each minister to see their biography.

Duncan Eddie

Duncan was born in Fraserburgh , lived a few years of his childhood in Argyll, and from the age of seven years onwards lived in Stonehaven.

From the age of three he was brought up in a Church of Scotland “Eventide” home, firstly at Invereck House, near Dunoon and later at Clashfarquhar House. At both homes his parents David and Evelyn Eddie were joint officers in charge.

He attained an MA Honours in Religious Studies at the University of Aberdeen and a BD Honours in New Testament studies at New College, Edinburgh. He served as an assistant minister at the Old Kirk of West Pilton in Edinburgh.

Following this he was ordained into his first charge as minister of the linked charge of Critchton West and St Ninian’s, at Cumnock in East Ayrshire.

He returned to the north-east in 1999 when he was inducted at Holburn West Church and he has served there until the West End Grouping of churches merged into the union of Fountainhall Church at which point he became a member of the Ministry Team here.

He has served as a member and Convener on several Presbytery committees and served as Moderator of the Presbytery of Aberdeen 2015- 2016.

He has served as school chaplain at Ashley Road Primary, Harlaw Academy and more recently the Grammar school. He has also worked as a chaplain in several care homes, including Nazareth House, Ashley Lodge and more recently Northcote Lodge and Rubislaw Park.

Married  to Carol they have two sons, Callum and Alastair, and a very special Lhasa Apso dog called Alfie."

Duncan’s interests are his love of music, Aberdeen Football Club; his enjoyment of theatre and concerts.

It has been alleged that his M.A.B.D. does not stand for Master of Arts, Bachelor of Divinity, but it actually stands for Mad About Bob Dylan!!

Tanya Webster

I was previously minister at Midstocket Church, moving to join the ministry team of Fountainhall Church in June 2023. I was born in Zambia to a Scottish mother and an English father and was brought up in South Africa.  I did my first degree in Accounting and auditing in South Africa and worked for the accounting firm KPMG in Pietermaritzburg near  Durban for several years before moving to Scotland.

In 2004, I experienced a call to Church ministry, and graduated from Glasgow University with a BD Hons in 2009. After a year as a probationary minister in Kirriemuir, I was ordained and inducted at Ardrossan Park Church where I was minster and Moderator of the Presbytery of Ardrossan before hearing God call me to Midstocket Church.

I am aware that being in the ministry can be challenging and rewarding and requires leadership, energy and compassion. I am particularly passionate about interacting as church out in the community and not just in the church buildings.  I enjoy working with people of all ages and backgrounds and providing opportunities for intergenerational events and worship.

Fountainhall Church has regular opportunities for worship, and a wide range of community activities building on its heritage from the four uniting congregations. I look forward to meeting members of the congregation and community as we start our new journey together as a united church.

Blessings
