LIVELY MINDS AT THE CROSS

Every first and third Tuesday of the month, Noon to 1.30pm, Main Hall at the Cross (Albyn Place, previously Queen's Cross Church)

Lively Minds provides a programme of events involving presentations from invited speakers from a diverse range of subjects and topics, all presented in an accessible and engaging manner.

Meetings take place in the Main Hall at Fountainhall at the Cross (previously Queen's Cross Church) and it is open to everyone. We start with a sandwich lunch and tea/coffee at noon followed by one hour presentation from around 12.30 pm until 1.30pm. £5 entry which includes lunch.

About the speaker and the talk....

Glencraft have been established in Aberdeen since 1843, one of the oldest remaining businesses in Scotland, besides the Port of Aberdeen. Glencraft are a charity and social enterprise, but they also manufacture high quality goods that are exported to Asia and North America, as well as our home market, and the company hold a Royal Warrant.

Glencraft have been crafting hand-made mattresses for nearly 200 years, supplying 4 generations of the Royal Family at Balmoral Castle among many customers in the UK and across the world.

Glencraft exist to provide dignity through work: 75% of our staff are visually impaired and/or have another form of disadvantage. The company won the Queen's Award for Enterprise: Promoting Opportunity 2021 and are honoured to hold a Royal Warrant from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Donald MacKay is Chief Executive of Glencraft Luxury Mattresses. He was born and raised on the Isle of Lewis, though he has spent the majority of my working life in the North East.. 

Join us at noon in the main hall at Fountainhall at the Cross (Albyn Place, formerly Queen's Cross) for a sandwich lunch before the talk.
